Get to know Amanda
Stories born from curiosity, imagination, and a love of the unexpected.
Originally from South Africa, Amanda Cozyn moved to Australia in 1984, bringing with her a vivid imagination and a lifelong love of storytelling.
Her passion for writing began with something simple — looking at everyday objects and imagining the stories they might tell. What started as short stories eventually grew into a love of creating characters, mysteries and worlds of her own.
After losing her father, Amanda stepped away from writing for almost fifteen years. With encouragement from friends, she eventually rediscovered her passion and completed her first novel, Buried Secrets.
A lover of murder mysteries, suspense and unexpected twists, Amanda enjoys stories that keep readers guessing until the very last page. But her imagination doesn't stop there. She also writes heartwarming children's adventures filled with friendship, curiosity and a touch of magic.
Away from her writing desk, Amanda is a proud mum to her daughter, Alexia, who is an important part of her world. She enjoys painting, drawing, spending time with her beloved pets and settling down with a good murder mystery.
Known for her dry sense of humour and a tendency to say exactly what she's thinking, Amanda believes life is far too interesting to take everything seriously.
For Amanda, one of the greatest joys of writing is imagining someone opening one of her books and becoming lost in its pages. The thought that a story she has created might bring a smile, spark someone's imagination or give a reader a few hours of enjoyment is what makes the journey so rewarding. Knowing that her stories might find a special place in someone else's heart is something she treasures.
Through Cozyn House Publishing, she continues to explore new stories, characters and adventures, guided by one simple belief:
Every story begins with a little curiosity.
